Who is running a DSS block?

I have a DSS 331 a pro bullet from back in the day (before all this level 10,20 stuff). I run N/a makin about 350rwhp right now. A bit more once the car is running again with the new cam. I'm happy with the motor 4yrs now and problem free. Although my hp levels arent super high I push the motor hard all the time. It sees 5500rpm every time its driven and I open track it several times a year (the motor spins between 3k and 6k rpms for 20min. out of every hour for like 7hrs) so its not just the ocassional dragstrip pass.:p Basically I drive it hard and it hasent dissapointed me yet. And yes DSS service is great too, I call them with questions ocassionally and the phone is answered quickly. I have been put on hold once and it took them almost a whole minute to get back to me:notnice: .:D

Oh grady N/A can be finnicky day to day too...if your cam is big enough. Try driving in rush hour traffic in a car that doesnt like to idle. Forced induction while greatly complicating things can be nice in that you can run a milder cam and still get a million hp out of it.

I agree :nice:

NA h/c/i combo can have issues :)

While there are bigger cams out there

My cam is not what you would call mild :nono:
and
I have N O N E of that stuff :D

A really sharp tune can make all that junk go away ;)

I woulden't "well see what happens i guess..." with a several thousand dollar shortblock. To get great worry free numbers out of a h/c/i forced induction motor you should look into a better block. I hate it when I hear guys making 500-600rwhp saying things like I dont really floor it on the street cuz I worry about splitting the block. Why on earth would you build a street motor like that. I dont have the money for a fancy block and a power adder so I went with a 10.8:1 compression ratio, I'm staying within the blocks limits and have a pretty stout N/A setup.

Do it once, Do it right, and then Don't worry about it. I wouldent build a motor any other way.

i would look into a new bos 302 block if I were you even if it means postponing the power adder.

i know i want a 331... just wasnt sure which im going to get... but it looks as if ill be going witht he Pro Bullet.... reason i said, well see what happens, is we'll see what the $$$ situation is at the time if im ready and able to do so... overall, if everyone says theyre as pleased with their DSS block as they say they are, then i assume i will be too...
