Okay, I just got a pair of 15x9 Draglites, MT Tubes, Screws, and ET Streets.
My plan is to use tubes and screw the rim to the tires.
I just finished drilling out the holes on one rim and just noticed something that doesn't look so good. With my 15x9 rim having a 5.5 backspace, the tube will set in the rim but be NOT in the center of the rim because of the backspacing of the rim and the dipped low part of the rim being not in the center, but 5.5 inches from the back of the rim. I'm assuming this will cause a problem if mounted, making the tube expand the tire unevenly off the center due to this. Is anyone here running into this problem or will the rubber of the tube just form evenly on the tire?? I don't know what to do here. The reason I wanted tubes is because alot of people who don't use tham have to fill up the tire pressure constantly which I don't want to do, gets annoying. It seems to me the perfect fitment with a 15x9 would be a 4.5" backspacing for the tube, but wheels would stick out and wouldn't look good. Anyone here run into this issue? Anyone here using this combo, does it work fine or am I screwed and should I just not use tubes (I already have one rim drilled for screws and would have to buy a new one)
????????????????????????????????????????
