Ok, so I recieved an "improper start" ticket from the myrtle beach police, which they say carries a $148 fine, but they were not sure about insurance points, does anyone know if it carries points, and if it does how easy is it to get that kind of thing dropped?

I would say that you are learning to drive a manual and explain that to the judge.

How long have you had the car as well? If it is not that long then maybe they will cut you a break?

I have had the car a year now, so I dont think that will help me out any, but if it carries no points I will probably just pay the fine and get it over with, I just want to know if it carries points or not.

Yes I did, I got the ticket Friday night on ocean blvd. too, go figure.

SC Police officer here. should not be a point violation if the officer wrote code 82 on the ticket. look in the bottom right of the ticket and see what 2 numbers he wrote.

This is hilarious.......I almost thought I saw myself.......I got the same ticket Friday night "improper starting" $148 between 6th & 7th north on Ocean Blvd at 11pm......Mine says 82.......I feel EXTEREMLY lucky........I was going to jail, already handcuffed.....Car would have been towed & impounded....was looking at a wreckless driving 6 point with a $586 fine......I am counting my blessens, paying my fine & learning my leason......

yea, the ticket was a code 82, now I need to know what this translates to in NC whether it carries points or not. Damn, I feel sorry for the guy who was about to go to jail! what did you do buddy!? I just squealed tires a little bit and got that improper start, between 12th and 13th ave n on ocean oh well, i guess it is better than reckless, but seriously, what does it translate to in nc?

Yea bones you guys can get away with it lol...Thats why one of you were thrown in back of a cop car that night. Not sure who, but your buddy in the older saleen was in front of him. He did a burnout and ended up in the pokey
