2700lb 66 Mustang coupe, manual everything, no a/c basically nothing to rob its power with 77 model 302 with flattop pistons being the only upgrade with 2100 autolite carb, C-4, 3.00 gear

or

92 Prelude V6/5spd with decent driver, bone stock

Which would be the faster car from a dig, low speed roll, high end, etc?

Well 77 302s didn't exactly make that much power.
Throw away the heads and cam and it would run a lot better.

Neither car is going to be that quick, lol

I give the nod to the Prelude, but just barely... those cars can be surprisiing, especially with a good driver. You'd probably get him at the line, but not by much. Torque is going to be your only saving grace.

i agree, the prelude will most likely win, unless the driver is a total idiot.

Prelude

But....for an easy upgrade strap a set of 65 289 heads on the 77 302....the chambers are smaller which will give you a big compression boost upping your usable horsepower.

I'm with you on this one. Pretty sure a 92 prelude would have a H22A (2.2L V-Tec). Runs mid-low 15s i think.

I've been in almost the exact same race. Yes, all Preludes are 4 cylinders. If its a H23 (2.3) then you'll most likely win, if you're motor is tuned well. If its a H22 (2.2), sorry he'll probably get you from a roll. You will probably get the jump from the start though.

NEITHER! It would be a said day in racing history. Sort of like the special olympics. There should be a minimum speed to call something a RACE!

It's like comparing apples & oranges... Prelude wouldn't do well IF it has auto transmission.
