About a month(?) ago somebody installed a G-Force trans and was going to post how he liked it. Never heard from him. I tried searching but can't find the post probably due to the lost registation info and posts recently in Stangnet. The post started "I finally took the plunge and bought a G-Force" I am thinking of getting a G-Force and want as many opinions as possible. I heard that the T-5 case was a weak link in the trans and that G-Force was going to offer a heavier duty case in the near future. I emailed G-Force and this is their reply word for word.

"No, we don't have a heavy duty case available. We are working on designing the castings. They will not increase the horsepower rating, just strengthen the bearing bores with more material. We are projecting the price to be around $250."

Any thoughts? I don't know much about the inner designings of the T-5. What are bearing bores and what will strengthening them do. Wouldn't stengthening anything in the T-5 increase its HP rating?

The bearing bores are the holes in the tranny where your input shaft, countershaft shaft, and output shaft rest on the bearings and bearing plates. (Bearing Plates- There a technical name for them but I forget)

I guess this is where the stock case's are cracking. I would contact them again and see how much TQ the stock cases can handle before cracking.

Thanks. I hope they don't say that the stock case won't handle over 350hp. That really wouldn't make sense.

I remember they were rating there trannys at like 600HP. Right?

But my question would be is that the what the internals are rated at? Or is this what the case is rated at?

Your right though it would be pointless to have 600HP internals and a case that cracks at 400HP.

After doing some reading, I think that a weak mainshaft is what causes the case to flex and eventually break. Upgrading the mainshaft should correct the problem. Am I correct?

I made a similar topic about 2 weeks ago and am still waiting for it to come in (hopefully tuesday). According to G-Force, the case is not the weak link. I upgraded the mainshaft for $300 and billet clusters since I didnt want to do this again. Call up G-Force and talk to one of their techs about it. They are good guys!!
