And here I thought I was wrong...shame on you
I guess I was a little wrong on the motor size though, I was asuming they all had 3.8's in them.32v said:Yeah, 95-96 had the ****ty 3.4L SC, I don't count thay as a real GTP.

TweekedGT said:There was a 2000 GTP at the local track last month running 15.5 all night long. I owned him. I personally think they are pretty nice cars. I've been thinking of one for the family car. Not a race car though. My stang is still #1.

i can never get races here, and i've yet to race a 99+ GT.![]()

Mossberg said:Wow, I just walked a GTP last night on my way to a rib joint to get a bite to eat, and then I see this thread.
nickthegenius said:Since your a GTP guy, what does a simple pulley swap do for the 1/4-mile times? I'm thinking that with a pulley swap, cool weather, and a good driver, a GTP would take a stock '99-up.
01mgvert said:Nice kill! There seems to be more and more GTPs on the road. They need to know their place in the food chain. They will not beat a 99+ GT unless they do major mods, assuming the GT is stock.
ChaosStarter said:It's hard to say exactly because the pulley swap was my last mod to do after the other stuff. My car seems to be a freak, but I ran the time below with just a pulley swap, home depot-style intake, new plugs/wires, 180* tstat, and some exhaust work. Now, most of the time they won't hit as good, but the mods I've done get most GTPs into the high to upper-mid 13's.
Stock for stock a 99+ GT should win everytime. But since I've only spent about $400ish in perf. stuff, I say I'm making out pretty well so far.
The things to watch out for now are the turbo kits that are being released. 1 guy hit 12.2@115 with 10lbs of boost, and another guy hit 12.7@112 with 8lbs (neither I/C'd). Street trim and all.
ChaosStarter said:14.2 @ 96mph stock. I wouldn't speak so cocky.
.... Chaos was referring to a GTP when he said 14.2 stock01mgvert said:This is still much better than a stock GTP at 15.0 seconds. I would imagine that the GTP needs to add another 40-50 rwhp to be competitive with a stock GT. By the way, I started this thread because I've run into too many cocky Grand Prix (not just GTP) owners who try to race out of their league. For example, a regular Grand Prix puts out 200 bhp and runs the quarter-mile in 16.2 seconds. Do they really think that its going to be a driver's race with a car that's 2 seconds faster in the quarter-mile? It's time for a serious reality check.

Hell if I had a GT or a GTP I wouldn't rest until I've done something to it.Dr. Wu 2000 said:No one ever wants to go with me. Sometimes I initiate and still nothing happens.![]()

I did it because I wanted to see them run and see just how fast they were compared to my slow POS. I realize that a lot of the people out there ARE retards who really think they're fast, but maybe some of them are actually just having fun for the hell of it, eh?
