why is my LX running so hot?

sorry to butt in but i have a similer problem, although mine jumps up (right next to hot) when im at idle, then drops to middle of normal when i start moving.
Check your fan set-up. I would also suggest that if this gets more involved to start a new thread - these long ones get confusing when people with polar opposite issues start posting on one thread.

Good luck bud.

Aluminum radiater..Do they make a big difference?

My car gets warm when I am running down the highway, I am thinking it's either the fan or the lack of air that can get past the "aero nose"

Differences between the aluminum and brass radiators:

Aluminum can be drawn easier and thinner than brass. This allows for bigger internal passages inside the radiator when comparing to a regular brass radiator

Aluminum is lighter than brass

Brass has better heat transfer properties than aluminum (probably the reason it can't be drawn as easily)

Those are the biggest differences that I know of

I have a brass 3 core radiator that I need to install once the weather starts to get warm. I got it for around $100.00 to go with my Mark Viii fan and DC controler

Billy.

Have you checked to see if your rad is clogged or has buildup?

Also, how is your fanclutch?

I think now would be a good time to do the SN-95 fan switch.
