Why not get Pulley's in Desert Climates

I have heard from many people and a few techs at my dealership that pulley's are not a wise mod for desert climates. They say the water pump is not turning enough to keep the engine cool. If this is the case should I wait until gears are installed, so that the engine will be turning a higher rpm -> turning water pump faster?

I used to live in Miami where it was high 90's and tons of humidity and everyone down there installed pulley's.

I wouldn't listen to them. I live in arid semi-desert, and drove my car around a lot when the weather was 100-110+ on plenty of occasions. Usually when I was cruising around back home I was driving it hard, although not sitting in traffic (since we have none). I would have no reservations about putting them on.

Tait, that is what I thought. I have never heard anyone say don't put them on from this site.

You can get them in the $100 range give or take.
