Im still fine tuneing my freshly rebuilt 306, you'll see all the specs in my sig. The new engine has at least 115 miles on it I just changed the oil for the 2nd time yesterday to help fulsh out the small metal particles and such and the oil smelt a little like gas! The oil was only about 115 miles old and it also had a black tint to it as if the oil was prematurely getting old. Today I pulled a spark plug out and found it to be black, which indicates a rich running condition. Now I backed of on the fuel pressure to about 34 PSI from the 40 PSI I had before and the exhaust still smells very rich. The car runs really good though, tons of torque and good top end power. The highest i Have brought it up to was 4000 RPM and she still pulled harder and harder.

My breaking in of the engine thus far involves stop and go driveing, varying the RPM's and some hard acceleration every now and then up to 4,000 RPM. The car idles really well and accerates very well also. But while cruseing at a stable RPM like lets say 1800 or 2200 the check engine light likes to flash on, stay on and shut of every now and then. Could this fuel in the oil and rich running condition be cause by, blow by and the piston rings still breaking in? Also Should I have the TPS Sensor Voltage set at 1.00 becuase right now im running an Edlebrcok 70 MM Throttle body and the instructions said voltage readings between .800-1.0 is good? Any sugestions would be awsome!
Thanks
