Thanks to Eades for a little phone help today

Since the blower is now shipped off to Vortech :damnit: I have some time to get some cleaning/detailing done.

Here are a couple of pics of the dirty MAM filter. First is just getting started. Second is after soaking and cleaning.

Note: after that second pic, I filled the sink again and got some more water that was dirty. I also cleaned the meter itself. We'll see if that helps in a couple of weeks.

Damn is that a pro-m 80mm with the filter that attaches to it? Cause mine has been down in my fender for like over a year and i have never cleaned it. Maybe i should. Is there a specific way to clean the Pro-M ones as compared to a K&N?

Nope, same exact filter element.

Soap/water ( I like to use simple green, then spray out from the inside with garden hose)

Anyone know if you should/should not spray some WD-40 on the filter before you put it back in? I know that having some oily lubricant on the filter helps with trapping dirt.

No, do not put any oil on those filters. You only wash and let them dry. I think it says so on the filter itself. Be careful when you install it back on the meter and torque down the nuts. I got a little carried away and broke one of the threaded studs on mine after I washed it.

$50 and a week later though I had a brand new filter..lol

Pick up one of those K&N Filter recharger kits. Comes w/ the cleaner and new lube for the filter after its cleaned. Can be found at any parts store.

Sorry for the confusion
I cleaned the FILTER.

The title says "MAM filter"

I also cleaned the meter too, but I keep referring to the Filter part.
