Why am i hitting the rev limiter,i have a c-4 tranny, with 4.10s,and i hit the rev limiter in 3rd before i reach the end of the track in the 1/8th mile my time slip is 60ft 1.57 1/8th mile ET is7.3 and mph is 85.56 i think thats a weird mph for that time anyone no whats going on?

Thats a pretty good time for the eigth mile. I'd be happy with it....

I have a C4, with 4.10's that runs 8.2@80 or so in the eigth on the motor, and 7.80@90 even on spray.

I ran some numbers and figured that I could use 4.56 gears in the 1/8th, and trap a max of 100, so I have room left to improve.

If it is really hitting the limiter, the converter may be too loose, or the trans is slipping in high, or you have tire spin. The converter is the most likely item. It seems to be working well in first and second thought.

yea the car runs very well i am very happy with it, i think it would run allot better if i didint rev out,do you no the proper way to ajust the 2nd and 3rd band ajuster nut,i think i do but i am not sure.

I did some quick calculations myself...

Based on running a C4/26" tire/4.10's/4% converter slip (?)

3rd Gear at 6250RPM would be about 110MPH.

A little creative math tells me that your converter would have tobe slipping about 20% in order to hit the rev limiter at about 95MPH in 3rd gear.

...just a little more info to consider.

do you think my converter was made to do that like i said it was made just for my setup it cost me about 850 dollors,it hits the rev limiter about15yrds before the finish line when i ordered this converter they wanted my engine size, gear ratio, cars weight, aproxment horse power, tire size, nitrous or sc,cam specs, what heads, valve size, and allot more they wanted everything.
