wideband o2 sensor location on prochamber w/LT's

Before putting my Mac longtubes and prochamber on my 94GT, I am wanting to have a bung welded on somewhere for a wideband oxygen sensor. I believe that it needs to be clocked to the top of the pipe, somewhere between 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock. On the 2 attached pics, I've numbered 10 locations. Which location (or somewhere else??) should I install it in and how should it be clocked?

I would set it where the pipes come together if room allows for it

I'm not seeing the pics, but with longtubes, you probably want as close to the collector as you can within reason to keep them hot. I've heard stories of people having LT problems becuase of the new 02 locations.

widebands dont need much heat. hency whey they work stuffed in the tailpipe on dynos

Any ideas? I think that having it in #7 would give a reading of both banks rather than just one. I don't know if there is clearance above the chamber to mount a sensor. Actually, which locations have the necessary clearance above for a sensor to be clocked to 10 - 2?

#8 and 9 seem that they would provide a 'more' average reading from both banks since the gases have been somewhat mixed.

I like the #10 location (with tube cut off, of course), but it is not clocked to 10-2. I don't plan on using the smog tube that's there, obviously. It's also not in the 'stream' of exhaust gas. Does this make it a bad location?

What kind of temperatures (and thus placement) does the wideband require? Like GTPhreak said, they work in the tailpipe, so can I mount this thing just about anywhere? Can it be too close to the engine?

#4 is where most people put it. It's easy to remove if necessary from that location.

I had the shop put one on each header in the collector next to the regular o2 bungs.

I wanted to stay close to the heat.

Is close to the heat necessary with a wideband? Can it get too hot? Does it need cooler temps than the normal O2's? After all, the dyno shop just puts it into your tailpipe in the rear. Perhaps they use a different kind of sensor.

I guess that I'm leaning to #8 or #9 since it will sample more of an average from both banks. Is that not really necessary? I don't know what kind of clearance there is in those locations, though.

How bout #7 or #10!?!?

Looking at pics of mine, and only having (1) sensor...IF you not gonna use the smog tube, id go #10....this way you get the reading from the chamber versus like #4....which is a good place, as its in the open...bout 8" beyond the collector from there, you have the crossmember to contend with....

your sensing o/2 levels only, so i say 10 for ease of access and the chamber averaging the reading???

what Wideband you using?? I have an Innovate LM1 and have my bung on the drivers side of the prochamber "box" (between your 6 and 9). I was initially going to put it at #10, but I still had it on the car and couldn't reach that area too well with the welder. I talked to Innovate and they said that in the box would be fine, as the Bosch sensor doesn't require to be in "direct flow" of the gases. Also with that sensor, you can't put it too close to the exhaust ports because it'll get to hot and you'll get a sensor error....unless you make a heat sink out of a piece of copper

If you only have one sensor, wouldn't you want to instal it where you will get readings from both banks? It wouldn't make sense (to me anyway) to put it anywhere but 10 or 7, possibly 8 or 9 since the gases from both banks might have mixed by then.

If you put a bung on both sides your covered for all options.

Get data on one side, move the o2 and compare.
