I was thinking of doing this 5 lug conversion kit http://www.brothersperformance.com/...lugconvkit.html with theses rims, http://www.weldracing.com/Weld_Raci...96_prostar.shtm I wanted to do 10 or 12's in the back and probably 8's up front. Will they work with each other? And will the 12's fit, or will I have to do modifications. If modifications are needed, what are they and how much will they cost? Also will 10's fit in the rear with no modifications? -Thanks!

-I posted this earlier in the talk section but nobody was able to help me!

neither of your links work for me.

a 10 or 12 inch rim is going to require pretty extensive work to fit. ive NEVER seen a 12 inch rim on a fox unless you mini-tubbed the rear.

with basic work (no quad shocks, small clearancing) you can fit a 275/285 maybe in the rear. on a 9" wide rim

Make sure you investigate that package. Only certain wheels will work for you on the 5 lug rotors unless you hammer the wheel bearing cover. Obivously, better to do a real sn95 conversion from a junkyard, ford, or baer. May cost more and/or be a bigger pain but I think the quality is much better than the kit from Brothers. Also, you will not fit a 12 inch wheel on the rear without doing a minitub.

ok...I might look into other conversion but ...what is this minitub thing I keep hearing about? How exactly is this done, and how much would it cost to get done?

...ok well screw that...I have been told that 10's will fit with only very small modifications to the wheel well. Is that true?

I have seen a guy run a 275 in the rear on a 10" wheel and have to roll the lip, hammer the inner wheel well, and flip the quad. Other guys on these boards have run a 275 on a 9" wheel with no problems  Depends on the offset, tire, how lowered your car is, if you run dumps, etc. What is the fascination with a 10" wheel? Why not a 9"?

Why not a 9" rim and a drag radial?
Because some people want 10", simple as that. I never said he wanted more traction, it's just a reason some people go wider. If he wants a 10, he wants a 10, don't question it. So why go 9, when you go with an 8? This is what it seems you're making it come down to.

If he can't find a 10, I'm sure he'll go down to a 9. Only reason I wouldn't put a 10 on a fox-body is because of clearance, unless you have the perfect offset that it fits great on there.

10" should get him more traction than the 9".

Therefore, your post on traction seems pointless in answering HIS question. :nonono: Anyway, my point was that for the trouble it would take to make a 10" wheel fit, it wouldn't be worth that traction gained over a 9" with a decent drag radial. That is all, if he is going to compete in outlaw or something then I can understand but for a street/track car it's probably not worth the effort. Next time I certainly won't question why anyone wants to do something oh great one

Here's a pic of a 325/50-15 on a 15X9 rim and 7" BS. It took alot of beating on the inner fender and it's very close. I can't find the rest of my pics, or I'd show you those too.
On my currect car, I run a 15X9 with a 5.5BS and a 275/60-15 with inner fender hammering and some fender rolling. Clears very well.
A 10" rim can fit with the proper BS, but get out the hammer. It's not a fun job. LOL
