Wheels-Tires Widest tires I can put on my stock fox?

I have a stock suspension 92 mustang gt with a 5 lug conversion and cobra disc brakes. The car currently has the cobra R wheels which from what I’ve read I believe are 17x9. What are the widest tires I can put in the front and back without rubbing? Also if anyone knows, are these wheels rare? I don’t know much about them.

I run 255/45/17 on my 17x8s

17x9 typically run a 275/40/17, although that’s going to be tight up front. I’d probably go 275 rear and 245 front.

However, are you fox offset axles out back or sn95?

Oh wow 275 nice! That would fit in the rear without any mods? In regards to the axles Could you explain what that means and how I could find out?

When you install cobra disk brake out back using factory Ford parts and a 94-98 axle shaft, it adds 0.75” of width to each side. On a fox this causes wheels to sometimes stick out unless you get deeper offset wheels.

However there are offset caliper brackets that use fox-width axles to pull them back in.

For you to run those wheels with 275s out back, you need the fox offset brackets and axles. So you need to investigate what is out back. A few pics of the axles brackets from the side or behind the wheel should be enough to tell
