On a stock suspension, what's the widest tires i can put in the rear on 17x9 rims?

i wouldnt go past 275 on a 9"

it shouldnt, with a 10 or 10.5" you can run 315's and only have to flip the quad shock (5min job, pretty simple)

I did a 285 on a 17x9 in the rear. I like how it looked a lot better than the 275's I have now.

who makes 285's?... not to hijack, but what should I throw on the front for tire size if im running 9" rims all around? and 275's/ 285's in the rear? p.s. eibach pro kit in future plans

i heard with 17x9 the best setup for the front is 245-45-17

245 or 255 should be fine, i have 245's on my 9" rims and i think it looks fine IMO. some peolpe complain of a "stretched" look with theirs but i think 245 is fine

i think handling suffers if you use to wide of a tire for the rim because of the way the sidewall sits. it would be fine for straight line but it you drive crappy roads or like to take turns dont go too wide


also if you go with a really wide front tire they tend to follow aly bumps/groves in the road A LOT more then a more narrow tire

245-45-17 front
275-40-17 rear
