wierd noise...speedo cable???

I've been starting to hear this noise for about a week now and it seems like it's louder from behind the instument cluster and sometimes from under the shift boot. I can barely hear it under accel. and normal driving but it's pretty loud when I'm coming down in gear from a higher RPM.

I've had this problem in an older car (85 Blazer) and it was a bad speedo cable. I have no idea if the 00 has the same style or if it's an actual cable or can be replaced.

Any help is appriciated or any advice on other possibilities.

2000's don't have speedo cables. The speedo is electronic, driven off of a sending unit on the tailshaft housing of the tranny.
