95 cobras ahave 255/45/17 stock. I know someone that wants to sell 255/40/17 tires for dirt chaep. anyone know if they will effect the car putting this different size on. i need help fast before he sells them to someone else

95 Cobra R's have the 255 series tire as stock - the normal cobra's had 245/45/17. A 255/40/17 should fit with minimal buldging. I'd stick with a 245/45/17 on a 17x8.
I thought all 94-95 cobras came with 255/45/17 Goodyear GSC's, and then in 96 switched to the 245/45/17 BFG's. I think the 255/40/17's look fine on a 17x8 rim. It will throw your speedo off a little bit though.
