I bought some chrome mach wheels, 18X9. I just got an awesome deal on 2 BFG 295 35 18's for the rear. Is this gonna fit on the 9 inch rim? I just checked tire rack and it recommended 10+ on these tires. Let me know if I can do this.

Thanks

I wouldn't do it. It *might* be possible, but not a good idea. The sidewalls would definately bulge quite a bit.

I will be putting 295's on the rear with my 9's.
I've got 265's out back right now but its not quite enough.
295's will be fine on a 9 in rim.

I would think you would have sidewall bulge with that big of a tire on a 9" rim.

Haven't people used 315's on a 9 inch rim? Has anyone used a 295 on a 9 inch to confirm if it's ok or not??

315 on a 9" rim.

The only way I would even THINK about doing that is with a 315 Nitto, since they run small.

I have 18x9 Chrome Mach 1 replicas from AFS Wheels. (Very pleased with them, btw). I first ran a pair of 295/35/18 Good Year Eagle F1 Supercars on the rear with no issues. Looks phat. I wouldn't try it on the front, through. Now I run 265/35/18's all around just so I can rotate tires. And it's cheaper.

Depends on your definition of "OK". OK and safe are two different animals. I run 285s on 10s in the back and 265s on 9s in the front.

Silvert99GT, Did you switch to 265's because you ran out of tread on the 295's or did you just switch out to be safe?

Where could I run into a safety problem with the 295's?

As soon as I get them on I will. I swear there are no pictures of the chrome ones on cars. I think they're gonna look awesome with the black car.

i have 18x9s and 285 rear/265 front. imo perfect.

295s will fit and i doubt they will rub, but they will bulge more than would be good.
