Just like the Title says, Will a 99+ intake fit 96-98 GT? I have an extra one that was ported a little, and a guy with a 98GT with stock heads was wondering if it would fit his car. I was thinking it would but wasn't sure does anyone else know?
Well it's not really ported it's just cleaned up inside so there aren't any ruff edges and everything is smooth. Suprisingly it only made 16 less horsepower to the fly wheel than the bullitt intake that was also ported. I wanted to buy the Bullitt intake but the guy told me about it and had the dyno numbers for proof.I figured that the Bullitt intake wasn't worth the extra 1200 for 16 flywheel horsepower and the regular intake was included in the price of the motor.
You need a few parts as well. Does this intake have the aluminum cross over or is it all plastic?
The parts you need is the coolant tube that runs in the valley between the heads for the PI intake, water pump nipple and the alternator bracket for the PI intake. You will need to use the PI gaskets and RTV around the coolant ports, you will see where once you put the gasket on the head. I have posted pics before but I am not going to find the link or the post.
If it is the all plastic intake, I am not sure where you can put the other sensor. NPI cars have 2 temp sensors, PI cars have 1. If it is the aluminum crossover, just tap and drill it for the heat sensor.
