I just wanna make sure that a 245/45/17 tire can fit a 17x9 rim. Is this true? With no problems?
If so thats great cause I need to save some $$..

Im pretty sure it can. Go to nitto tire, I think they have a chart.

It'll fit, but it isn't really the ideal size (ideal would be 275/40-17)...the 245/45 will look a bit stretched over a 9" rim - the 245/45-17 is ideal for an 8" rim.

I put 555's that are 255\45r 17 on stock bullit wheels they look good to.

It'll be ok, but it'll look stretched. You'll probably get some good complements from vw owners.

like previously stated it will look stretched, beeter to go with 275/40/17

The 245/45R17 tire has design rim width of 8.00 which most tire manufactures follow based on T&R Standards. The same association provides other acceptable widths which for this tire size also includes a 7.5 and 9.0 rim.

What rear wheel size are you going to go to? Is there that big a difference in price between your rears and the 245's up front? I ask this because you will lose your ability to rotate and in the long run you will save no money at all.

On my 17x9 cobras i run 245s with no problem I ran them with nittos and they fit just fine dont worry about it they will work and they are cheaper

I will have up front 17x9 Black bullitts with the 245/45/17 Nitto street tires (I am taking the Nitto Streets off my 17x8 Stock bullitt wheels and using them for the New Rims...as they are still in new condition)
And out back I will have 17x10.5 DD black Bullitts with 315/35/17 Nitto DR's...


I could careless about rotating wheels cause its gonna be impossible with the difference in tire sizes.

9.5 - 11 in is the rim width range for that tire size.

Ye ai saw that on Tirerack its just that im not sure yet whether i want to upgrade to a 10" rim later on and if i do, i don't want to have to buy tires again. I was hoping to run the 285's on my 18x9 rim and if i decide to upgrade to Deep Dish FR500's (18x10), i can do so without having to get new tires in the rear

I'm running stock 245 screamin eagles with cobra r 17x9's it fits but the ride will jar your teeth out of your mouth not to mention the tires look like they are about to explode. had 255's before, night and day even with them. spend the extra money your teeth will thank you.

they will work fine. 245 is ranged for 8-9.5. 8.5 is actually the recomened width.

255-265 would look a little more squared off.

275 is actually on the wide side for a 9" rim even though tons of people run it.

no whether that will alow you to curb the rim or not I don't know. there was a mix up when I bought these wheels and tires I got 18x9 up front instead of 18x8 so I have 245 on 9" right now. bfg kdw-2 and the tire hits the crub first. I tested it out to make sure I did not have to give the wife a lecture about curbing the rims.
