I've been calling numerous places to find offroad X-PIPE and installation prices. Some places have told me an offroad X-PIPE will not fit an automatic, others have said its a direct bolt on.

One place has a Bassani offroad x-pipe direct bolt on for automatic for $239 and another place says they only make offroad h-pipe direct bolts on for the auto.

Need advice, as I will be doing this within the next day or two.

Two questions.

1). Can the offroad x-pipe fit the '95 gt automatic? Do I need the sensors? They say I dont need them.

2). These are my choices from who I have called in my area.
Bassani x-pipe w/o cats = $239
UPR h-pipe w/o cats = $159
BBK h-pipe w/o cats = $179

who's the one to go with???

thanks.

Yeah, I'm pretty positive an o/r (or one with cats) will fit your car fine. As far as sensors, you have to keep your O2 sensors, but you don't need the MIL eliminators like in the '96 and up ones. As far as choice of brand, the Bassani's probably the best quality, a little more hp with the x than the h, but there's nothing wrong with the other two. Good luck.

An H or X pipe with or with out cats should work just fine. The only way I could see there being a problem is if you had a deeper trans fluid pan.

They work fine. I had an O/R X on my AODE and fitment was perfect. Half the time those "experts" have no clue about our cars. At least that's what I've noticed.

Sorry I meant x-pipe UPR.

What kind of sound is it exactly, a deep tone sound or a more raspy euro car sound?

I'm actually looking for a nice crisp little raspy sound because not many mustangs have that sound, most are running flows and generally produce the same sound, well in my area where stangs are they do.

And are yours O/R?

Thanks.

X pipe will give you a raspy higher pitched sound. Its really loud at idle and then NASTY when you open up the throttle.

I have the prochamber now and it is fairly loud at certain RPMs but relatively (to the X) quiet everywhere else. Plus it just sounds like every other Mustang/truck out on the street.

See thats what worries me.. my cherry bomb vortex mufflers sound loud as is, on stock exhaust.. I don't want my car to be uncontrollably loud, I live in a city with old retired people

But forget 'em.. I'm still thinking of going with the O/R X.

Just don't know who to get...

UPR, Heddman, Bassani (kinda costly), BBK (everyone says they are crap?), or Mac.

ahhh...

Go with Bassani. You get what you pay for. Make up the difference in the price by installing it yourself. It's not that hard, even for a certified bonehead like me.

I hear really good things about VRS x pipes and they are pretty decent in price. I've heard they are as good as a Bassani or Dr. Gas.

Well I found a place near me.. Livernois Motorsports...
They have the stainless steel Bassani X for only $299 and they charge $100 for install..

Seems like an OK price to me I guess...

i have the stainless basanni o/r x and its quiet at idle with my 3 chamber flows, like still loud enough so u know there is something there and only gets louder, when u step on it it gets pretty freaking loud for just a pipe, but it does do the raspy tin can thing at like 1000-1500 rpm. but i like it especially bc its stainless.
