Will Pony Wheels Fit An 87 Gt ?

Hey guys , I have an '87 GT vert. I want to buy pony wheels for it off of Craigslst. The front wheels have 245/50/16 tires on them. I'm being told they will rub the fender or fender well because the 87 fenders are smaller than '91 and up fenders. Has anyone had this issue ? Thanks in advance

I had them on my '88 with same size tires. At stock ride height, they barely rubbed. Lowered, they rubber a bit but at full lock

I ran pony wheels on an 88 with 245/50 tires and no rub issues at all. Stock ride height GT.

i have a 91 so i wouldnt know,mine were perfect with same size tires,but wouldnt rack limeters help a bit for him?
