my seats are starting to do down south and i've been thinking about replacing them, but i don't want to spend a fortune. i found these seats online by chance:

http://www.surpluscomputers.com/store/Main.aspx?p=ItemDetail&item=CES10681

yeah, a computer store selling car seats. what's up with that? the price is right. does anyone know if they will fit my '89 lx? would i need to make any modifications? are they even worth it? to be honest, i've never really researched racing seats so any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

I bought my seats from Jeg's High Performance. They are $200/each and fit real nice. I just bolted my factory seat brackets to them (had to enlarge some holes) and they are real comfy. The only part is they sit a tad bit taller than the stockers, but im 6' tall and it's not too bad:

i put a set of those "e-bay affordable race seats" in my 87 notch....with in 6 months the side bolsters were wearing out an the retaining spring that keeps the seat back attached to the seat base kept coming off...i reused my old sliders on them by redrilling them to fit the spacing on the new seats...i replaced them with a set of grey leather gt seats i picked up for 30 bucks that had a cracked support in the drivers seat that caused it to lean back...i slipped the cover up an drilled the broken bracket an bolted it together, got some duplecolor black spry dye an changed them to black...total investment $50.00!

Nope, didn't weigh them. They did feel lighter than the stockers though.

After seeing your post I ordered a set from Jegs. I got the drivers in, looks great and quality is really nice. It is a bit high (I'm 6'2) but its not bad. Fed Ex lost my other seat, so I gotta wait for them to find it and get it to me.amnit:
