Will this distributor work?

I have a 90 5.0 HO that is missing the distributor. I had a distributor given to me out of a 1985 Lincoln LSC. I know that later he 5.0 in the LSC was the same as the Mustang, but what about 85? Is it a distributor out of a roller? What is the difference?

I dont think that the 85 used a roller cam. The way you can tell is with the gear on the shaft. If its steel its a roller cam if its brass its not. You can replace the gear to steel though...... just pound out the pin on the gear take off the old on, install the new one and pound in the new pin.
