As topic states Im in the middle of trying to figure out the turn signal issue, but before i go buy a new relay and really get into it does the factory dash need to be plugged in?? My car is a 87 lx notch orginally a 4 cyl converted to a Ls1 with all aftermarket cobalt gauges... I just got the car last week and am fixing the electrical issue... THanks

You don't need the cluster hooked up to see if the signals work. You should be able to light a 12V bulb from the signal wire with the other end of the bulb grounded. Does your flasher in the fuse panel work?

I'm willing to bet that your wipers don't work on "high" either. That blue/orange wire goes to your wiper motor switch.

The plug on the top of the steering column (the biggest one) is for the turn signals. Your signals aren't going to work without a working flasher in the fuse panel.

Do you have the hazard switch connected? Won't work without that

OK all good to know, the car doesnt have wipers, but I will have to put a flasher in the fuse panel and see if she works then.. hazard switch is there just wasnt hooked up

You may find that your TS relay is actually behind the center console or under the glove box.
