Window won't roll up - bad motor - Question

Okay, my right hand convertible quarter window won't roll up. I have tried applied 12V and ground directly to the motor itself and it will not budge. I ordered a new motor from 50resto, but I really need to get the window up.

If I take the motor out, can I slide the window up? Its supposed to rain all week and the part won't be here for a couple of days. Why can't the motor be turned by force?

Worse comes to worse, I can swap it with the motor in the front to get the window up, I'm pretty sure they are the same.

I dont see why you can push it up manually if you take the motor off. then just stick some floded paper between the window and the trim on the inside to keep it up. I had to do this with my moms car when the motors went out. It took a week for the parts to com in. GM had this great idea to make the glass permanetly attached to the motor and all the other crap.
