My drivers side window wont roll up. I was using it one minute then 15 minutes later it stopped working. I hear a click when I push down on the switch, but not up. The test light shows that the switch is working correctly. What steps should I take next? Is this a common problem?

Yeah but I had that problem in my passanger window, it was different though. The passenger side had trouble going up, like it struggled to get up. The drivers side always worked great then just decided to quit. Also it doesn't even sound like the motor is turning.

If you hear the motor running and the window struggling or not going up or down then it's the bushings. If you don't hear the motor at all then it's probably toast. If the switch works on the driver's side but not on passenger side the switch probably got water in it at some time.

How can I check if its the switch or the motor? Its weird I hear a click when I push down but not when I push up. I think the motor just completely died. :-(

When I was working on my car the window got stuk down. When I would push the up button I could see the lights inside my car dim a hair from the load on the motor. I played with it for a few min and it finaly came up and works just fine.

Got the same problem here :bang:

I had the same problem. I subsituted the "good" switches for the "bad" ones with no change in the problem, I put new windows motors in and no change. Finally I had to take it to Ford and they fixed it right up. I hated raising the white flag that way, but I couldn't take driving in the 100* Texas heat with no AC and no driver side window! DOH!

had the same problem with my F150. Drivers window would not work with swtich.Changed switch with passenger side, still no good, changed motor-no good.Went to Ford and bought a new switch, replaced the drivers side-worked great. Somehow they must have them wired weird??

one touch down

The lines going to the one-touch down box, as well as the box itself, are often the cause of hard-to-troubleshoot window problems. I've gotten boiling mad trying to figure out why my driver's side window failed to work more than one time. One time I bought a new one; it didn't work; the old one was tested fine; and nothing still worked. The switch tested fine, finally I noticed the window was chaffing the one touch down lines a little. Once moved I never had another problem.
