Winter Tires???

I was going to get the Eagle GTs too but I have some nasty hills in my area and like Kansas, we in Colorado can get some pretty rough weather some days. I just ordered a set of Blizzak WS-50s from tire rack for $392.00 + $54.46 shipping ($446.46). GoodYear wanted to charge me around $750.00 for a set of GTs mounted. I'll have to pay another $56.00 locally for mounting. Go with the Blizzaks.

you do have a spare set of rims to mount these on right? if you dont take them off when it gets warm you will burn through the blizzaks within a month, 2 at most.

How warm? It can be 20* high one day and 60* high the next. I don't plan to drive my car during the winter except to and from work when I can't drive my girlfriends SUV. And the job I'll be starting is only about 5 miles away at the most. Once Spring hits I'll take them off.

Summertime warm. Snow tires are a softer compound that gets eaten up on hot pavement.

Pretty much when you are sure that snow is done for the year, you should take snow tires off. They aren't really great for performance anyway. You wouldn't want them on in the summer.
