Wiper Motor: how do I get to it?

Sounds like a silly question.

How do I get to the wiper motor? I suspect it is fried and would like to replace it (although I live in California and rarely need it). It's just a matter of principle.
Does the entire instrument cluster have to be removed?

I not sure about your car but I replaced mine (a 66) from under the dash.

Yes, it sucked. The hardest part was getting the scissor mech. back on right.

I guess I located it. My mistake was I though it was part of the heater blower. Then I turned my head and did see the blower. So I guess I now know where the wiper motor is...

Of course it's a bitch to get to when you are 6"2.

By removing turn signal switch and steering wheel it's easier, but still not much fun.

I'll tackle this later. Maybe I will take photos and make a tech out of it.

im pretty sure if u take out the driver seat it will be a world more easier, I'm 5'11" and i know what you mean... it is tough to get down there.

Why do you think it is fried? If it is blowing fuses make sure to check the fuse holder because they do rust which increases the resistence in the circuit and overloads it due to the motor turning slower and leaving the windings connected for a longer time slot. Same thing happens on blower motors. Dremel has a round stone that is a perfect fit. You can then use a dielectric grease to prevent further rust.

I think that the fuse is OK. I will check it for resistance, Bu tI get the feeling that the motor is the problem.
