I have an electric water temp and oil pressure gauge I'm wiring in. I've found a 12v ignition wire, can I hook both gauges up to that ignition wire or should each of them both have their own 12v ignition wire?
I was wondering how i was gonna tie my gauges in to where they would dim with the lights like the gauge do. I guess you just solved that for me.... I already ordered the green LED bulbs from autometer to try and match the gauges
Awesome, thanks guys for your responses. I'm an idiot with electrical stuff. Wasn't sure if my gauge would be half accurate it it shared a power source.

Chad, FWIW, I have my oil pressure and water temp gauges wired to the same power source, and ground. Of course they have their own sending wire though. Where are you mounting them? That would determine the easiest places to tap in for power, ground etc.

I have O/P and water temp gauges in my A/C vent in my fox. I wired the 2 gauges together (ground, light, 12V) then I wired one gauge to the aftermarket radio harness (ground, light, 12V)that I chopped when i put in my pioneer. Then I ran 2 wires to the engine bay for each respective sending unit. I think I might reground the gauges tho, thats a lot of ground for one little radio wire IMHO.
That will be fine. I forgot to mention I have both my gauges run off the same light source too. So both gauges share a power, ground, and illumination wire, and it's no problem to run them this way.
