So this weekend is my birthday and my fiance and I have decided to go out to the track tonight. Got our helmets this week. She'll be racing in the '05, though I'm going to take it down the strip at least once, depending on how busy they are. And I'll be in the '07. Should be interesting. Then tomorrow I'll be back to the dyno to see what my CMCV delete plates, Pypes Off-Road H pipe, and Brenspeed tune have done for me.

My guesses for our best times...

Fiance - 13.4 - 13.6
Me in '07 - 13.2 - 13.4
Me in '05 - 12.9 - 13.2

This is assuming that I can get traction, and figure out how to do it lol. I consider myself a good driver, fast shifter, and good launcher. So we'll see.

HP wise, I'm guessing 285HP.

I'm beat, so long story short, I put down a 13.5 in my '07 as my best time. I don't think that's too bad considering this is my first ever time at the track. I had 1/2 a tank of gas and all my street wear was in, including spare tire and I'm running stock Pirelli's. I know it's good for 13.2, and maybe 13.1 if I can just get my 60ft's down. I'll post time slips tomorrow. My 13.5 I tried to shift early from 3rd to 4th, and missed 4th, so that may have been a 13.4 had I stayed in 3rd. My fiance didn't fair as well.

more to come during the day....

Ok, so my fiance won't let me post her timeslips. Her best was a 14.58. She's not flooring it, though. It's running a bit lean, and she's still scared of the car lol.

Anyway, here's my graphs. I'm totally addicted now. I got a video I'll edit later tonight.

Yeah, Kool, you trapped extremely high there, considering your 13.1 run trapped higher. That's crazy!

I thought the numbers were pretty decent considering my lack of experience. I'm going to try to go back next week, too.

Got dynoed today and, again, was almost dead on. I guessed 285HP above, came up with 284HP and 293Ft/Lbs RWTQ. Previous dyno was 270HP and 278Ft/Lbs Tq, and have since switched to Brenspeed and added the off-road pipe and CMDP's. So the expected gains were dead on, as is my AFR now. Video coming soon.

Whoops. I meant your 13.1 run trapped lower. Oh well. My dyno guy said I should be shifting around 6400 to 6500, so hopefully that will get me down to 13.2 next time, along with borrowing the KDW2's off the front of the '05. I'll actually probably shift at 6300 so I can powershift. I haven't tried that yet, either.

Dark, once you get the hang of getting traction your trap speeds will fall a bit. It's the result of the car hooking and motor rpms being lower in that process. When your slipping you generally trap higher with a lower ET due to the lack of traction.

All in all you did real well, I'd set a goal to get that 2.0+ 60ft to a 1.8 and you will see the ET's come down to 13.1 - 13.2

You were sleeping a bit on the tree.

Nice work though for a first time out..

By the way how's cordova these days, I haven't been out there in 10+ years..

Yeah, figuring out where to launch from is definitely the key. I wasn't really worrying too much about r/t. I'm just trying to get the hang of launching and work on my 60ft and 1/4 times. Once I get that where I want it, then I'll worry about r/t.

Cordova's not too bad. It seemed pretty well prepped. It was a fun time. There were several hundred cars, so I only got a few runs in.
