I need some help. My 2000 GT poser will not idle when its cold. It just started doing it yesterday. It starts right up, but if you dont hold your foot onthe gas, she dies. Restarts fine, but continues to die untill the motor is warm. I would say anything under 50 degrees. Once its warm, it idles fine. Any ideas ?

Try removing those Cobra badges...

Seriously though, sounds kinda like faulty IAC...

Also, check to see if your MAF is oily--you have a K&N air filter that gets oiled after being cleaned. The oil blowby sometimes accumulates on the MAF and can (not will) cause these same symptoms.

It's the valve that mounts on your intake. Sorry, I don't have a better pic, as this is from a Bullitt.

I've got the same issue......

I've got a 99 GT with the same issue. I did look over the MAF and it looks clean. Is there any way to test the IAC? Did you figure any thing out, cobrajeff00 ? I've got alot of gas smell with mine, like the car is getting too much gas, not enough air ?

I had the same issue with my car Jeff - a new Idle Air Control valve cleared the problem. The IAC accumilates carbon buildup over time, potentially causing it to stick. You can try spraying the IAC with carb cleaner, but your best bet is to simply buy another one. Auto part stores sell them anywhere from $50-60, or Ford for $70.
