worth gettin 97 cobra springs

i have an 89 lx, use to be a 4cyl but now has a 5.0. still has the stock 4 suspension though. im gettin ready to swap in a 8.8 with 4.10 gears. do these fit and would there be any advantages to gettin springs off a 97 cobra? i would also like to cut them to lower the car a bit. on a budget so thats why im lookin used. i could probably get these for $30.

also ever since i put on the 16in pony wheels my car looks like it sits higher in the front and pulls in the grooves on the road. why is this?
