Would this LCD Screen work ??

I was thinking about something similar, with a ps2 in the back seat, but I dont have the funds right now. You could try to make something yourself, but if you have never worked with fiberglass, you should probably go somewhere to get it installed the way you want it will cost ya, but you dont want to mess it up real bad, cause its right in plain sight no matter what...

A guy I know bought a 94 mustang with an LCD screen and PS2 installed into the dash. They took out the middle vents, dropped the CD player and air/heater controls down a slot, and had a custom mould made to accomodate a 5" by 4" or so LCD screen. They installed the PS2 where the passenger side airbag goes, moulded in nicely, keeping a factory look. I'm not sure how they ddid it, but it looks great. You just sacrifice your middle cents and passenger side airbag (is there one?).

Seems like it sync's on NTSC (USA) or PAL (European) television standards. This means you have to have a TV tuner or computer that generates NTSC or PAL output (composite video). It doesn't say it will work with VGA, SVGA or XGA so the common personal computer video can't be directly used without a NTSC or PAL card stuffed in the box. It also says it uses 12 volt power. The chances are 12v automotive power is too dirty to use with a visual display so you'd likely also need a power filter or a DC-DC converter to power it. I'm not saying you can't do this, what I'm saying is the $119 price quote comes with some hidden costs. It would be real easy for your $119 project to cost $1,119.

I do want to do something similer, but then I can't justify spending my ,omey on TV that only my GF gets its benefit, and when my car could a lot more go fast goodie...

Yeah that personalized PC is so very pimp.

The thread I saw the unit ..... his install in a 01+ GT.

Will require some cutting and a specific harness to match stock 460.

i personally think that this little PC would havebeen a much better solution to the space issue..

That kenwood in-dash DVD player can support navigation system that just plugs into it. It's a nice system. I need a job!
