I have some extra pipe laying around and I need to make some reducers for my exhaust to go from 3inch-2.5. I was wondering if something like this would work?

My dad said the pockets that wouldn't flow would make it worse. Basically I would cut a 2.5 inch hole in a piece of scrap sheet metal, weld the 2.5 inch pipe to it, then weld the sheet metal onto the 3 inch pipe.

PS yes I am badass at paint....

Yes it will work,But your dad is right. It won't flow. Go to autozone or other parts store and buy the $3 recucers.

it would take a muffler shop 5 minutes to make a reducer. i had a pair of mufflers one time with a 3 inch outlet and watched them make a reducer in a matter of seconds. they didnt even charge extra for it cause it was so easy for them to make.
