I went a year and a half without it here in San Diego. It doesnt get too hot but after my 347 i got a new line and recharged it up. I love having it now. I root for keeping the A/C.
I thought about tossing mine several times during the engine swap. I ended up leaving it in there, basically because it still worked good. But yeah, PITA to work around.
John, are you crazy!!!! SD is one of my favorite places in the U.S. I was in Barstow a few years ago and it was 125 degrees (about this time of year). Took a trip to SD and it was 69* and I was freezing my @SS off. Temps / humidity there is GREAT.

Yeah SD does rock when your a native you get a wierd perspective on weather. 65 or lower and its freezing and 75 and up and its blazing . I love this place too bad is so damn expensive to live here.
