Anyone try to get replacement calibers lately? Since I'm putting my car back together I'm pretty much replacing everything along the way... all new brake lines, wheel cyl for the rear, drums, got the Power stop Z23 rotor/pad kit for the front, new master cyl (I'm still on the fence on weather to replace the booster or not) I did blast and paint it a few years back when I took it off, it did work at the time..) anyway, I ordered replacement calibers for the front... from AM, there Cardone re-man's , got the drivers side, but the pass side has been back ordered since I ordered it back in January... in fact pretty much no one has it... and the drivers side are slim findings too... heck Autozone doesn't even show a caliber selection at all when I look up brakes for my 90 GT. WTF, looks like there is a Caliber shortage... Advance shows only wearever ones (which have the same part number as the cardone's, anyone know if these are cardone's?) but no stores have them in stock either.. not sure if I order for home deliver if I would get a e-mail saying there back order too). Want to get the same re-man brand as the one I already have.
I thought about getting new pistons, and seals for the ones I took off (they did work when I drove the car home) been sitting in a bags since I took them off... heck even the pistons are in short supply, found some on Rockauto... I know I can blast the out side of the caliber, but I guess you don't want to do inside where the piston goes right? since it would make the surface rough? so I would need to blast before removing piston... then clean up inside with solvent... looks like only 2 seals... so should be easy to rebuild right?
If I do that, I hope I can get AM to take this one back without me having to pay shipping back since i've been waiting on the other side and this has been useless to me..
