i finally summed up the balls to powershift today, it really help alot. as soon as a hit 2nd its almost time to slam 3rd gear. i will try it the next track visit. wont be doing it on the street though :)

yeah its a nice t5, i dont plan to do it at all, only at the track maybe.

it doesnt really feel that hard on the tranny, just feels like a fast and really hard ass shift.

my t5 is rebuilt with hardened gears and the like so maybe that helps.

Its cool until you do it at the track, try to hit 3rd, miss, your hand slips off, you punch the radio and your tranny now sounds like you have a gear drive or supercharger... ask me how i know lol

3rd gear is the weak spot

Heres what happens to it.

thats not how I broke this t5 though. Intrestingly I was doing 40 mph, I shifted into 3rd and it sounded like something grenaded and it started grinding and jerking etc.

My defention of powershifting is not taking my foot off the gas while you shift. I blew my T5 up in about 6 months. Probably around 50 really really hard shifts. Lost every gear expect 4th. I used to powershift through all the gears except 5th. I'm a little gun shine now with the Tremec.

I would do it at the track but not at every stop sign.

I broke 6 T-5s in my 83 powershifting. :D I bought a 3550 after those 6 (yeah it took me a while to learn to just buy good parts FIRST), and never powershifted it. LOL. I wasn't gunna break it powershifting, althought I had Cast Iron shift forks put in to take it.
