ok i bought new tires for the stang and the fronts just got here and the rears should be here tomorow, however i orderd a 45 height front and a 40 height rear.... is this gonna be ok or should i send them back?? it would be 50 buck to ship them back and get a new pair so let me know.

(i orderd 255/45/17 for the front and 275/40/17 for the rear, the tires on there now are all 40/17)

also will a 245 tire fit on a 9" rim?? thanks

If I'm not mistaken, the tires that are originally on it are 225/55/16, the matching 17's would be 245/45/17. With that said 255/45/17 will have overall diamater of 26.04 in and 275/40/17 is 25.66 in. so they're different. I have 245/45/17 all around and front rub at full turn and I had to flip the quad shocks in the rear to fit and it's about 1/4 inch away from the exhaust. You sure they'll fit?

I ran the same sizes on my 94 with no problems. I hope your offsets are correct with that package or you will have rubbing. The fronts (255's) will be about 1/2 inch taller than the rears, if you can live with that you should be fine.(I couldn't) 245's do fit on a 9" rim, and that would be my recommendation.

the middle number (45, 50, 70 w/e) isnt the height of a tire its the aspect ratio

its just a percentage of how tall the tire is compared the to width

say you have a 255/50/15 tire the tire is 50% as tall as it is wide so its roughly 127.5 cm tall which is about 5 inches tall. which is 10 inches for the whole tire and on a 15 inch rim it ends up being 25 inches tall

the rim u posted for the will be 114.75 cm tall which is about 4.5 inches, 9 inches for both side so it ends up being 26 inches tall

the rear rim will be 110 cm tall which is 4.3 inches, 8.6 for both sides and it will be 25.6 inches tall

your rear wheel and tire will be .4 inches shorter than the front. which isnt much and i will doubt it would be noticeable but who knows

sorry for all the question s and a bit of ignorance but i learned somthing new and got my tire delima solved in the 30 day return period so thanks alot everyone, and thanks for whoever sent me that tire calculator that helped so much!!
