i tried to get my seats out today, but the bolt that holds the seat frame to the car, just spins in place. along with that, one bolt is so rusty i dont know if i can loosen it. is there another way to go about taking the seats out instead of the 4 bolts on the floor?

theres 4 bolts that hold the seat to the seat track, try that. And I know 2 of the bolts holding the seat to the floor went through the floor and are on a bolt I think. You might have to hold it.

Yep, some are bolts and some are nuts that spin on fixed shanks.

You could try to lift up the seat as you loosen (this helps pull the fastener out). Or put a screwdriver or pry bar under the head (if it's a little loose) and pull up as you loosen.

Good luck.

ok i managed to get the seat out (tryed the pulling up method) but i have some bad news. 2 bolts snapped off, one on each side. driver side front left bolt snapped, passenger side rear left snapped. is ok to run 3 bolts for a little bit, until i drill the bolt out, and re-thread it?

Shouldnt be a problem, just watch for sharp turns. My seat rails were broken on the entire drivers side of my seat. When I would take a sharp left the seat would tilt hard. I welded them back ogether and its fine now, but it can be dangerous.

to get them out, use vise grips on the actual stud from under the car, heat from a torch and some penetrating lube. My car had a broken one and this worked for me. I actually ended up taking it out from the bottom (threading into the car) as it did not want to back out.

If that doesn't work for ya you can take one of the bolts you got out to get some nuts with the same thread and double nut them onto the stud and use those to rotate it out.
