x pipe sounds horrible

The car now sounds horrible, and Im a fan off x pipes. Its nothing new to me, been around tons of them with friends and liked them. My car has a horrible sound, almost a popping sound between 2000-3000rpm, its just awful. Idle is great, above 3000rpm is great, and the cars sound dramactically changes and is smooth with no pop. Any ideas? Stait through mufflers? Borla, Bassani? Just scared to dump money in high dollar mufflers and not like the outcome.

yeah X-pipes will give you that raspiness, i use to have one (bassani) , but since i swapped to the prochamber couldnt be more happier with the tone

here's your problem, bbk x's are known to sound like crap. search and you'll see this. Buy some UPR/Pypes/Bassani/SLP all of which sound good

CR 96gt, thanks for the news on the bbk, got it used for nothing, neways, had to cut and weld it to make it fit since I have had slight frame damage on the front end of the car. Neways, the midpipe was a pain to get done, so its proboly gonna stay for now, any suggestions to correct the popping, not the raspy noise, but "popping" at certain rpms? Once again, thanks for the input to all.....

this is known as the burnt popcorn effect for the BBK o/r X, lol. No real way to fix it, sounds that way w/ any muffler. Best bet is to eventually by a stainless steel Pypes for like $152 from americanmuscle

Well i dont have the "poping sound" and i have Flowtech LT's, BBK O/R Xpipe, and flowmaster 40's.. i think it sounds great.. BUT... I am going to a O/R Hpipe here next week.. i think it will be much better...

I really dont know a good way to fix your problem.. Unless you wanna make some custom Dumps LOL jk

I am not fan of X pipe needer,but only mufflers that can can back up the X pipe is BASSANI mufflers,I have the and I am happy with the cambo.......
