I just junked the Tremec 3650 in my 01 Bullitt and had X2C Motorsports install a TKO 500, Centerforce dual friction clutch, triple adjustable clutch quadrant, firewall adjuster and new clutch cable.

I'm in the process of breaking everything in because I want to make sure that this thing shifts smoothly for the rest of it's life.

Right now I can report that the tranny is quieter than my 3650, and shifts are very...uh...positive?

It is a lil' notchy right now but that's not a bad thing. I've heard that it will smooth out a bit once the tranny is broken in.

As you may know, the TKO 500 comes with a shifter from Tremec, but no handle. I originally tried to use the shifter handle from my Tri Ax but it sat way too low. X2C modded up a stock shifter handle and mated it to the shifter that came with the TKO and now it sits just fine.

All I can say is that this thing is solid. None of that clanking and clunking I had with the 3650.

One weird thing I'm getting used to is reverse. If you throw it straight into reverse it grinds. X2C skooled me on how to drop it into 4th and then reverse to get it to go in without a crunch. Problem solved.

As for the Centerforce dual friction clutch - it's butter.

Heads up: If your stock clutch feels like dooky then you may very well need a new clutch cable. My car had 41,000 miles on the original cable and it felt like crap. The new clutch cable was key.

Good write up! Im waiting to install my X2C TKO V.2, which is sitting in a garage. Good luck and break it in easy! How much power are you pushing through it?

I've got 451/403 at the wheels. This tranny should last me a looooong time.
