I was thinking that another way around it would be to drill the plug weld holes on the seat divider instead? You'd have to weld upside down, though.

Do you have a set measurement for that divider or does it vary by car?

The back end is done ,except for grinding the welds . The roof is welded to the rain gutters and all the weld in brackets are in side . Still have to finish up the front toe board and patch the quarter window holes in the door jamb and it is done ,and it is back on the ground

I got some of the welds ground .
Bought a new liner ,tip ,cone and new defuser for my mig . $50 for all including a box of new tips . It didnt want to supply gas to the gun at first ,i dont know what the problem was but after taking it all apart 4 times it finally works . Now i have to play around with the wire speed but it is making a pretty good plug weld . One decent weld but i cant see through my helmet ,have to get a lighter lens

I don't think I need anything at the moment. I have all I need to put the tail panel back together. Next step will be the front fender aprons.

A little late but , i took all three of my spot welders apart, cleaned all the connections and managed to get all of them working again . This will make the next one a whole lot easier to build, and a lot less grinding . Should be starting on it Saturday

nice to see the spot welders come back to life
The fastback looks great, no rust is hard to get my head around.
Seems every mustang I've known has always had a little.

Jim, are the measurements for these published somewhere, or is this just information that youve collected over the years?
I'm having impure thoughts about selling my fox and picking up a '70 coupe that's nearby and been for sale for forever.
