That’s what I’m talking about. Very nice. What cam are you running?I bought a survivor 1993 lx hatch about 2 years ago. No mods other than a aftermarket radio. I had a choice. Leave it be, restore it, restomod it. At first I left it the way it was. But then I noticed, weatherstripping leaking, sunroof leaked, doors sagging, all the little things foxes are suffering from after 25yrs. So I started to restore. Changed my interior from opal gray to black. But I didn’t stop there. I start stock piling parts. I picked up an original 93 Cobra Intake, gt40 heads, cam, water pump, headers, 3.73 gears and some other goodies. I refreshed/resealed the engine and kept all the original parts that came off. Now I have a fox that feels good to drive and is reliable. It’s my weekend hotrod and I love it. If you like it all original then keep it that way. If you want a mild build, go for it. Wanna throw a turbo and a choppy cam then have at it. It’s yours to have fun with. I respect them all.

I’m the original owner of an ‘86 GT with 98,000 miles. A couple of years ago I faced that question and decided to do an upgrade, against the recommendation of a buddy who helped. TFS 170 heads, E303 cam, Bassani shorty headers, Edelbrock Performer intake, etc. 3.55 rear gears, ‘87-‘93 front suspension for the bigger brakes, rear disc conversion, 17X8/9 wheels. I kept all the old parts except the stock heads and Thermactor piping. It’s definitely a bit different from stock, and a bit more difficult to drive, but I’m enjoying it and may change some of the old parts back at some future time.Knowing most of us aren’t 18 years old (body age).

Where I live, there's a guy who buys 03-04 cobras and parts them out. Perfectly good running cars with no issues. He'll sell the drivetrains, seats, body panels, wiring, etc and claims he makes significantly more than the purchase price of the car. I've watched him kill 5-10 perfectly fine Cobras like this.....
I went to my local upholstery shop and picked out the design. I also worked with Fox Mustang Restoration on getting carpet, console, switches, door panels etc.Those seats look great. We’re they recovered? What kit did you use?
I worked with my local engine builder. He worked my heads and I had the intake ported. He helped me out with cam selection. I told him what I had and what I wanted. We settled on an Elgin 1018-p camshaft. He explained it as "between a TFS1 and TFS2". It's got 510/534 lift, 222/232 duration @.50 with lope sep. at 112. The power band is 2500-6000. I think it's known as the Wolverine/Blueracer cam in some circles. I am very please with it. It's a different beast when you hit that 2500 mark. I love it.That’s what I’m talking about. Very nice. Hatch, sold the coupe. Picked a clean hatch. My coupe had almost Ford combo every supercharged 306 to carbed 351C. I regret selling it with my TKO in it after looking at current prices.Is it a coupe or hatch? I don’t know if you mentioned that.
Subframe connectors and torque box reinforcements are two things I do on every mustang I’ve ever had. They’re good mods, and I don’t think anybody has any issues seeing them, even if they’re looking for a stock car.
You could always yank the factory engine and do an explorer 5.0, which you could modify at your hearts content. Then later when factory stock foxes go up in value even more, put the stock stuff back in.
How is the SLP loudmouth kit? Any drone/sound clip?I got my mostly stock ( electric fan,hot air intake, two cat h pipe withflows,CD radio) 1993 lx with 81,000 miles on it back almost 14 years ago(7/7/7)(it's a Vegas thing). It was just what was available when my daily tourass trans gave up the ghost. Never had a stang before. It wasn't long before I was hooked on stangs.Didn't ever think about keeping her stock,first mod subframe connectors welded in,then rear control arms to stop the hop,3g alt. to keep fan and stereo happy.fender cold air intake,headers,short shifter,cobra brake upgrade with GT premium 17 inch rims,,hood struts,one piece headlights with hid's,led dash lights,led tail lights,SLP loudmouth catback, and I'm not done daily driving or modding her. I love my stang and will keep her till I die so originality doesn't matter to me at all,.....
