I'm going to be building my own CAI out of 3" aluminum tubing and I want to hide my LMAF in the fender. The only way I figure I can do that is to mount the filter and LMAF vertically inside the fender and then have a 90* bend going through the fender into the engine compartment. From there it will be as straight of a shot as possible to a fox style throttle body.
Will either the 90* bend after the meter or having the meter mounted vertically cause any problems? I know it's ideal to have as few bends as possible, but I wouldn't mind losing a little power so that I can hide the meter and filter.
Thoughts?

. Anyway if you have a bend before the MAF the turbulence at the bend before your MAF could set your readings way off and cause eratic a/f mixtures. So I say leave the MAF where it was meant to be.
