did anyone see the movie 300?

Bloody killings/good looking naked girls all brought into one movie.

I agree about the nipples. That one oracle chick or whatever had tootsie roll sized nipples.

The movie was friggin sweet, even after I had to sit in the very front row. It wasn't all too serious, either. It had it's pretty funny moments here and there. I'd definitely reccomend seeing it!

Pretty acurate too, as far as what we know from Greek historians. I've taken a few Greek classes in college as humanities electives. "Come home with your shield or on it" is a common translation of a real Spartan saying, as well as some others I can't remember. Hollywood actually did a really good job staying true to the history, for once.

Well, sorta.
1. The "phallanx" was usually 2 shields tall, not 1 like portrayed in the movie.
2. Also, the Spartans wouldn't throw their spears....they only used their swords as a last resort should their spear break or become lost.

Other than that, it was great. Best movie I've seen in a while, and ranks up there with Gladiator and Braveheart as a great "guy" movie.

Two parts I really didn't like

The guy on the white horse that comes out of nowhere and cuts that guys sons head clean off. Where did he come from? How come no one chased him down and killed him? They just let that one go?

The spear throw at the end? WTF, that made me so mad that he didn't hit him.

If I wanted historical accuracy I'd read a history book, I wanted to be entertained and the movie did a damn good job BOTH times I went to it. First time I was forced to sit on the farthest seat 2 rows from the front in an IMAX theatre...what a ****ty view let me tell you that. Went again yesterday and got to sit dead center halfway up, GREAT SHOW.

+1. Its not a F'n Docu-drama, its a movie based on Frank Millers novel, which is loosely based on the actual Battle of Thermopylae.

Having said that, it actually was more accurate than I expected it to be. Hence Xerces lives at the end, and a lot of the quotes or references were actually recorded by Herodotus. "Tonight we dine in Hell", and "Then we shall fight in the shade" are two examples. The series of events portrayed in the movie are generally what happened according to Herodotus. Read up on it, and you will be surprised at how much the producers actually incorporated into the movie.

Definitely in my top 3 all-time movies. I want to see it at IMAX now.
