"Deprived Kid From Iowa Needs $17K To Purchase Mustang"

PIC REMOVED

"Looks like somebody’s parents wouldn’t buy him a Mustang for their first car so instead of working for the money like most normal teenagers, David Nelson of Bettendorf, Iowa has decided to take his campaign to the web. David has put up a site called LINK REMOVED and his goal is to raise $17K to buy a used Convertible 2005-07 Mustang through donations via Paypal. As of writing this he has not received one donation toward his Mustang but it’s early so check back in a week to see what kind of progress this kid has made. "

This should go on the front page of Stangnet! :P i dont think so, unless you want to pay for your advertising. -bigcat

Ah, I remember when I turned 16 and *needed* a Mustang. I ultimately fell in love with a 72 Camaro, but, eitherway, I remember the pure excitement, anticipation, and frustration that came with wanting a nice car on my 16th.

Once I get a few bucks in my PayPal I'll probably donate 5-10 bucks to this kid. :D

Nothing personal, but if I don't know you and you want me to GIVE you money to purchase a car as a teenager...bite me!!!!!
I am curious about the kid's folks...do they know or is this something they told him to do as far as getting one on "his own"? I also strongly support the wanting of a car=getting a J O B. I would help mine get car, but the rest is up to them. My son is not quite 5, so I have a ways to go before I get there myself.

Deprived, and Bettendorf in the same sentance? Ha. Stupid punk. Bettendorf, for the most part, is the Beverly Hills of the Quad Cities. This little bum lives right accross the river from me.

Wait a minute, DoctorStang IS David! Who else would join a Mustang board just to make a post saying he was going to donate to this kid?

:spam:

:edit: ran a whois on the website, and it's owned by a Mark Nelson, to whom I would assume would be his father. Ok, so maybe you're not David, but you're definitely related to him in some way, and I'm still saying the spam needs removed.

I'm sure his parents will buy him something if he lives in a rich part of town. If not, get a job. No need to start off with something amazing. I'm grateful for my car and that my parents paid for it, but if my parents didn't want to get it for me and got me a different car I would of been happy with that too. At least I would have a car to drive around and go hang out with. If you are given everything early in life then you never have anything to work forward to.

Living in richmond VA, I have no problem telling bums that I don't have any change for them, despite the fact that they and I can hear it jingling in my pocket.

If the kid wants a mustang, he should earn it. I cut my teeth on a POS mazda for 9 years until I could afford my new GT. nobody deserves a handout or charity for a car..... just get a damn job.

Oh, look at me, I'm deprived.... I'm a well paid engineer, but I can't afford that Ferrari 612 that I want.... maybe everyone here should donate to my cause because I'm too lazy to work...:notnice:

Excuse me - but teenager + spoiled brat + getting something for nothing + new mustang = a future problem in my book. I'd kick his butt for a country mile and make him work and drive a junkbox for a few years while he saved his money, and then guess what - off to college for 4 to 6 years and then get a real job - make the money - and buy your own dang car. Now that builds character and thats all I can say about that.
