Can you distinguish the difference?

Yeap, I can tell the difference. So far I've only heard one 2V that sounded like a 4V but it wasn't stock exhaust. I can even tell a 3V from all 3 of those. It has become a game with my g/f and I guessing which one it is before we see it... I can do the same with huey and blackhawk helicopters.

The sound difference between a 5.0 and a 4.6 is pretty easy to distinguish. The idling tone of a 2V 4.6 vs 4V 4.6 is pretty easy too. Auto vs. manual is a dead give away when you hear how it launches/shifts. But I can't distinguish a 4.6 2v from a 3v. All these hours listening to sound clips from Mustangexhaust helped out I guess. :rlaugh:

The minute a 5.0 is done the street coming up, i know what it is....5.0's have the hollowed out stock sound. 2v's 4.6 is so easy to tell vs 4v 4.6...there idle's are completly different like everyone says...2v's have a huge yell down low while the 4v's have a huge yell up top! 3v's are just different....

hell my mom can tell the difference between a 4.6 and a 5.0 (not joking)

as far as 4.6's, i can distinguish between a 2 and 4v stock or modded but i haven't heard that many 3v's

most if not all 'o5 and up gt's are either driven by 20yr old girls or 50yr old geezers who never get on the throttle

you can hear a difference in all those motors, but you wouldn't be able to TELL which was which unless u hear one right after the other.

Some of you guys though.... I bet if i drove one down the street past you blind folded, u wouldnt' be able to tell me what it was. hell i'd drive a chevy truck past you and i bet you'd tell me its a 5.0L GT. Its honestly too hard to tell what motor a car has at a flyby. There are SOOOO many exhaust mods out there. I've heard even V6's sound like 2v 4.6L GTs in person, and thats no joke
