Hi everyone, i used post on stangnet a few years back before i blew my 289 and repainted and put a 347 in my 65 mustang coupe.

Heres the new project buy some wheels and tires because the current ones do not help the appearance of the car one bit! Right now it is sitting on 195 70 14 front and 245 60 14 rear. I have not rolled my fenders and do not really wish to because i just painted the car

I am basically looking for suggestions, the approx size i would like to go with is 17x8, and as far as i know the suspension is fairly stock other then my traction bars.

Heres my baby -

my dad suggested the same foose rims, im trying to stay away from rims with the fake rivets tho because i have those on my monte and they are a bitch to clean! how do gt40s look on 65's they look perfect on the black fox bodies, off all those i like the chrome bullits the best

i say you keep the wheels that you have on there and just invest in like 8 turbos and 14 nitrous kits hahahhaahah o thats right your not joel sorry i think you should get a set of FR500 17x9 non deep dish cus i dont think the 10s will fit in the back even know that would look sick, black with polished lip just like that green one up a ways and you can get the rims off e-bay pretty cheap.
O and when are you getting them slicks? cuz i was wondering if you have them next weekend if i could put them on my fox and see what she runs

10th anniversary cobrs or roush wheels

i have been lookin really hard and i have been thinkin that the the 10th anniversary cobra wheels would look Bad Ass or some roush wheels idk what kind of roush wheels they all look sweet but like the ones on the stage 2s are what im lookin at they are sick

Theres 3 kinds. Stage 1 (weak), stage 2/3 early, stage 2/3 late. Early ones were prone to flaking and peeling, and Im pretty sure theyre not even available anymore. I used to work in the building where those were built.

Go with ROH zs racing, they have an awesome look, and if you still have drums, they will help hide them to some extent.

Do you have a pic of a car with these on it? Looks interesting.

Also...I can't seem to be able to find the thread were the guy with the green mustang (above) posted a bunch of pics. That has to be of the the cleanest 68's ever. I just wanted to see a side shot with those wheels. If I remember right he had to seriously modify the front wheels (cut them and narrow them) to make those GT10's work.

I think those are FR500's on that green car. If not then they're Raceline GT's, like I put on my '65:

Here's another pic: http://www.mustangmods.com/data/9461/ride_height_5305.jpg

These rims 17 x 8, 5.0 BS with 235/45-17 tires. I needed to use a 7/32" spacer on the fronts, to clear the upper ball joint. I'd go with the 5.0" BS, because you can always subtract BS with a spacer; adding BS is just about impossible.

I think 235/45-17 is about as big as you can go up front with a '65-'66. My fender lips are rolled and I had to cut a section out of the pinch weld on the passenger side for clearance.

I put 17's on my Car and If I had to do it again I would of gone with a 16 inch rim with big meaty tires, it looks better and in some instances you must roll your fender and change **** around. I had to upgrade both my front and rear suspension because stock wasn't strong enough.
