As for your piston speed theory, why a motor stays together at high rpms, isn't all about piston speed, it's more a combination of the strengths and weaknesses of the combined parts and the centrifugal force that stresses them. I don't know what the stroke is of your Yamaha but I doubt you're accurate in guessing a comparison to a 351W. That was a poor choice anyway with it's too large main bearings for the rpms. Nascar and dedicated racers use the smaller 351C or 302 bearing size in aftermarket blocks to avoid this problem. Try again junior.
